Our Ica tours take you to this city set amongst the sand dunes, slightly more elevated then the nearby capital, Lima. Ica is renowned for its produce of wine and pisco, a brandy made from the unique white grapes of the area. SAAT recommends Ica to the wine connoisseur as the area is full of bodegas and wineries. The town of Ica is also home to an excellent museum which exhibits some of Peru’s fine archaeological finds, as well as colonial churches and other historic buildings. On the outskirts of Ica lies another tourist favorite, Huacahina Lagoon, a picturesque oasis amid sand dunes and palm trees. Located between Lima and Nazca, Ica is easily accessible in a number of South America Adventure Travel's travel itineraries.
